Materials and care
Every piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple layers of mineral plaster, giving a dense, matte, stone-like surface. Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment.
Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid prolonged direct water contact unless your piece was sealed for sheltered outdoor use — if in doubt, write to us; a real person from the atelier answers.
Production, approval and delivery
Each piece is handmade to order. Standard production typically takes 5–10 business days. Custom commissions and highly detailed pieces may require additional time. We share progress photos and videos throughout production and provide final visuals for approval before dispatch.
Insured door-to-door delivery is included in the displayed price unless a product page or checkout explicitly states otherwise. Once dispatched, transit typically takes 7–14 business days to the United States, Canada and Europe, and 10–21 business days to the rest of the world, depending on destination and service; carrier or customs delays can occur. For orders delivered within the United States, applicable customs duties and import charges are covered by Mono Aurel. For deliveries to all other countries, customs duties, import taxes and related destination charges are the buyer's responsibility. Any applicable sales taxes will be displayed at checkout where required. Every shipment is tracked and insured.
Each piece is cushioned and double-boxed like artwork, and you receive tracking as soon as it leaves the atelier. How we pack and ship
Returns and warranty
We share production photos and videos at important stages, and send a detailed final video before dispatch. Your piece is shipped only after you have reviewed and approved it. If you are not satisfied before shipment, we will remake the piece or refund you. Made-to-order production does not make a piece final sale: standard catalogue pieces, ordered in one of their listed sizes, colours and finishes, can be returned within 14 days of delivery under our Refund Policy. Pieces made specifically to your own specification — a bespoke commission — cannot be returned solely because of a change of mind. If a piece arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, contact us within 7 calendar days of delivery with photographs of the piece and its packaging. Every piece carries a one-year limited warranty for the original purchaser, running from the date of delivery, against verified manufacturing defects and product faults under the product's stated intended use. Where we verify a claim, we provide a replacement or a refund, and in most cases you will not be asked to return the original piece. The design
The Rift Mirror reads as a single mineral mass that has been opened, rather than as a mirror set into a frame. The surround gathers its weight at the base and narrows as it rises, so the silhouette leans and shifts depending on where it is seen from. Against the eroded texture of the surround, the mirror plane stays clean and precise, and the contrast between the two is the whole proposition of the piece.
Materials and craftsmanship
Every Rift Mirror is shaped and finished individually by hand. The surround carries a matte mineral, stone-look texture with the depth and irregularity of weathered rock, while the full-length mirror set within it provides an expansive, unbroken reflective surface. No two pieces are identical.

Dimensions are the approximate overall exterior dimensions, including the sculptural frame. The Rift Mirror is conceived as a substantial, architectural object rather than a thin decorative mirror frame.

Each finish is applied by hand. Subtle variations in tone, texture and movement are part of the character of the piece. All six standard finishes are available in every size, with no difference in price.
Placement
As a full-length floor mirror with the presence of a sculpture, the Rift Mirror asks for space around it: an entryway, the end of a corridor, a dressing area, or a living room wall where its full height can be read. In organic modern and wabi sabi interiors it works as an earthen counterpoint to pale plaster and soft textiles; in minimal and brutalist spaces it holds the room as an architectural element.
