Materials and craftsmanship

Every piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple layers of mineral plaster, giving a dense, matte, stone-like surface. Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment. Tones sit in the ivory, bone and warm sand family and soften beautifully in natural light.

Care

Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid prolonged direct water contact unless your piece was sealed for sheltered outdoor use — if in doubt, write to us; a real person from the atelier answers.

Production and delivery

Every piece is handcrafted to order in our atelier. Production typically takes 5–10 business days unless this page states otherwise; custom sizes and more complex forms may require additional time.

Your piece leaves the atelier as soon as it is finished. Delivery timing and full terms are set out in the section below.

Shipping, duties and returns

Insured door-to-door delivery is included in the displayed price unless a product page or checkout explicitly states otherwise. Once dispatched, transit typically takes approximately 3–10 business days depending on destination and service; carrier or customs delays can occur. For orders delivered within the United States, applicable customs duties and import charges are covered by Mono Aurel. For deliveries to all other countries, customs duties, import taxes and related destination charges are the buyer's responsibility. Any applicable sales taxes will be displayed at checkout where required. Every shipment is tracked and insured.

Each piece is cushioned and double-boxed like artwork, and you receive tracking as soon as it leaves the atelier.

We share production photos and videos at important stages, and send a detailed final video before dispatch. Your piece is shipped only after you have reviewed and approved it. If you are not satisfied before shipment, we will remake the piece or refund you. Because pieces are made to order, standard change-of-mind returns are not accepted once a piece has been approved and dispatched. Every product is covered by a one-year warranty: in the case of a verified manufacturing defect, product fault or qualifying transit damage, we will provide a refund or a replacement, and in most cases you will not be asked to return the original piece. The warranty does not cover misuse, improper installation, accidental damage or ordinary wear.

About this piece

Large handmade abstract floor sculpture with matte plaster texture, available in 160 cm and 180 cm sizes. Designed as a statement art object for modern interiors, entryways, villas, boutique hotels, and gallery-style spaces.

The Celestial Balance Totem Sculpture is a large handmade floor sculpture designed as a quiet statement piece for refined interiors, villa entrances, boutique hotels, galleries, and architectural living spaces.

Its stacked abstract form is inspired by moon phases, balance, primitive sculptural language, and soft architectural geometry. Each sculptural element is carefully aligned around a hidden internal support structure, allowing the piece to stand vertically while keeping the exterior appearance clean, seamless, and art-object focused.

Each piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple mineral plaster layers to create its distinctive stone-like surface. The final surface has a warm ivory, limestone-like appearance with subtle handmade texture. It offers the visual presence of stone, but without the extreme weight of solid stone.

Each sculpture is handmade to order, so small surface variations, texture differences, and minor handmade details are part of the character of the piece.

Available sizes

Approx. maximum width: 52 cm / 20.5 in

Key features

  • Available in 160 cm / 63 in and 180 cm / 71 in
  • Matte plaster-coated surface over a lightweight sculptural core
  • Stone-like limestone / plaster appearance
  • Hidden internal metal support structure

Construction & assembly

The sculpture is produced in separate sculptural modules for safer shipping and easier handling.

A hidden internal support structure passes through the aligned centre of the forms. Once assembled, the support system is not visible from the outside, allowing the sculpture to keep its clean, seamless, stacked appearance.

The piece is designed for simple assembly and stable interior placement. Assembly instructions are included with the order.

Finish

The standard finish is a warm ivory matte plaster surface with a handmade stone-like texture. Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment.

The surface is intentionally organic and tactile. It is not a perfectly smooth factory-made plastic or resin finish. Small irregularities, plaster movement, and surface texture are part of the handmade character of the sculpture.

Other finish options may be available on request, including warm ivory plaster, soft beige limestone look, sand / clay tone, and charcoal black plaster.

Where to use

Living rooms, entryways, villa interiors, boutique hotels, gallery-style homes, interior designer projects, minimalist interiors, Mediterranean homes, spa and wellness spaces, architectural corners, and luxury retail or showroom displays.

It is designed to bring height, texture, and sculptural presence to a space without feeling overly decorative or mass-produced.

Because this is a large handmade object, it may ship in modular sections for safer delivery. The pieces are designed to be assembled after delivery using the hidden internal support system. Please make sure your delivery address and phone number are correct.

Important notes

This is a handmade decorative art object, not a mass-produced factory item. Small variations in texture, shape, finish, and proportions should be expected. These details make each sculpture unique.

The sculpture is designed primarily for indoor use or protected interior-style spaces. If you plan to use it outdoors, in a humid environment, or in a commercial project, please get in touch before ordering so we can discuss the best finish option.

Need a different size, colour or finish? Request a custom version. Interior designers, architects, boutique hotels, villas, galleries and hospitality projects are welcome to enquire about custom production.

Notes from the Atelier

Living with the Celestial Plaster Totem

Material story

Each piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple mineral plaster layers to create its distinctive stone-like surface — applied, dried and carved back until it reads like weathered stone. Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment.

Surface character

Run a hand across the surface and you will find gentle tool marks, grain and subtle shifts in tone. This variation is not a defect — it is the record of the making, and the reason no two pieces are ever identical.

How it is made

Concept, carving, reinforcement, plaster, hand sanding, pigmentation, inspection — every piece passes through the same slow sequence of hands before it is packed, one piece at a time. See Our Materials and Process.

Placement & scale

Sculptural objects work best where they can breathe — a quiet corner, an entryway, the end of a hallway, a console styled sparsely. The lightweight sculptural core keeps large architectural forms manageable to position and to move. Give the piece space and side light; plaster texture comes alive in raking light. Exact dimensions are listed above, and a written spec sheet is available on request.

Long-term care

Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid soaking, harsh cleaners and abrasives. Treated kindly, mineral plaster ages the way good architecture does — slowly, and with character. Read the Care Guidance.
