What every order carries with it.
Handcrafted to order
Every piece is formed, finished and packed by hand in our own atelier. Standard production typically takes 5–10 business days; custom or complex pieces may require longer.
Insured door-to-door delivery
Tracked, insured delivery is included in the displayed price, typically 3–10 business days in transit. For orders delivered within the United States, taxes and duties are included. For other countries, customs charges may be the buyer’s responsibility.
Production updates shared throughout
You receive progress photos and videos at each important stage, so you can follow your piece as it is made.
Final photos and video before dispatch
Detailed final visuals are sent for your approval. Your piece ships only once you have reviewed and approved it.

The Making of a Piece

Nothing here comes off a production line. Every totem, lamp and vessel passes through the same slow sequence of hands — and every stage leaves its quiet trace in the finished piece.

Each form begins as a sketch — proportions judged by eye, the way a sculptor works, not a factory.

Carving
The lightweight sculptural core is shaped and carved by hand until the silhouette holds its presence from every angle.

Reinforcement
The form is reinforced for strength and stability — built to be lived with, not just looked at.

Mineral plaster
Multiple layers of mineral plaster are applied, dried and carved back to reveal a dense, stone-like surface.

Hand sanding
Surfaces are refined slowly, by hand, and inspected in raking light — where nothing can hide.

Pigmentation & finish
Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment.

Final approval
We send detailed final photos and video before dispatch. Your piece ships only once you have reviewed and approved it.

Each piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple mineral plaster layers to create its distinctive stone-like surface — dense like stone, warm like clay. The core keeps large architectural forms manageable to position and deliver. Run a hand across one and you feel the tool marks, the grain, the quiet evidence of its making.
- High-density coreEach piece is built around a dense sculptural core — solid, stable and shaped by hand.
- Mineral plasterLayered mineral plaster, applied and carved back for a stone-like surface. Never molded plastic.
- Natural pigmentsIvory, bone and warm sand — mineral tones worked into the surface, softening beautifully with light.
- Hand finishingSanded and refined entirely by hand. The subtle tool marks that remain are the maker's signature.
- Protective coatingA sealing coat protects the surface for daily life while preserving its natural, tactile feel.

Each piece is handmade to order. Standard production typically takes approximately 5–10 business days unless a product page states a different timeline. Custom commissions and highly detailed pieces may require additional time. We share progress photos and videos throughout production and provide final visuals for approval before dispatch.
How long does delivery take, and is it insured?
Once dispatched, transit typically takes approximately 3–10 business days depending on destination and service. Delivery is tracked, insured and arranged door to door, and is included in the displayed price unless a product page or checkout states otherwise. Unexpected carrier or customs delays can occur.
What about customs, duties and taxes?
For orders delivered within the United States, applicable customs duties and import charges are covered by Mono Aurel. For deliveries to all other countries, customs duties, import taxes and related charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Any applicable sales taxes are displayed at checkout where required.
What are the pieces made of?
Each piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple mineral plaster layers to create its distinctive stone-like surface. The engineered core is what allows large architectural forms to stay manageable for placement and delivery. Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment.
Can I request a custom size, colour or design?
Yes. Send us a photo of your space and approximate dimensions through the Custom Commissions page. We will prepare three complimentary initial design directions. Detailed development, revisions, technical work and production begin after a concept is selected and the commission is confirmed. Colours can be matched to RAL, NCS or Pantone references.
Can the sculptures be used outdoors?
Selected pieces are suitable for sheltered outdoor spaces such as covered terraces and patios. If a piece will live outside, tell us before ordering — we can apply additional protective sealing and advise on placement.
How are the pieces packed?
Like artwork. Each sculpture is wrapped, cushioned and suspended inside a double-walled crate or box designed for its exact shape.
Is payment secure?
Yes. All payments are processed through Shopify’s PCI-compliant, encrypted checkout. We never see or store your card details, and major cards, PayPal and local payment methods are supported.
What if something is wrong with my piece?
We send a detailed final video before dispatch and ship only once you have approved it. If you are not satisfied before shipment, we will remake the piece or refund you. Because pieces are made to order, standard change-of-mind returns are not accepted once a piece has been approved and dispatched. Every product is covered by a one-year warranty: in the case of a verified manufacturing defect, product fault or qualifying transit damage we provide a refund or a replacement. The warranty does not cover misuse, improper installation, accidental damage or ordinary wear.
Do you work with interior designers and architects?
Yes. Interior designers, architects, design studios and hospitality projects can apply to the Mono Aurel Trade Program. Approved trade clients receive a flat 15% trade discount on eligible collection pieces, dedicated project support and bespoke development. Custom projects are quoted individually.
