On Sculptural Light
Light that touches the surface, not just the room.
Most lighting is designed to disappear. Ours is designed to remain — a sculptural presence that holds a corner by day and, after dark, casts a warm glow that grazes its own hand-plastered texture. The shadows are part of the design.
Every lamp body is formed in mineral plaster over a sculpted core, finished by hand and sealed. We recommend warm-white bulbs and a dimmer: plaster is at its most beautiful in low, raking light.
Designer's note — place a floor lamp where its light can wash a textured wall. One sculptural source at low height changes a room more than five downlights.
Lighting questions
What bulb should I use?
Warm white — 2700 K or lower — and a dimmer where possible. Socket and voltage details are listed per piece where available; tell us your country before ordering and we will confirm the right specification for your region.
Is the lamp body really handmade?
Yes. The sculptural body of every lamp is formed and finished by hand in layered mineral plaster, exactly like our totems and vessels — surface variation included, and intended.
Can I commission a custom size or tone?
Yes. Lamps are regularly commissioned in custom heights and finishes, with tones matched to RAL, NCS or Pantone references. Start a commission.
