Mono Aurel Atelier

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your products made of?

Each piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple mineral plaster layers to create its distinctive stone-like surface. Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment. The result is a durable, matte, stone-like surface that is significantly lighter than real stone or concrete.

Are the products made to order?

Each piece is handmade to order. Standard production typically takes 5–10 business days. Custom commissions and highly detailed pieces may require additional time. We share progress photos and videos throughout production and provide final visuals for approval before dispatch.

How long does delivery take?

Once dispatched, insured door-to-door transit typically takes approximately 3–10 business days depending on destination and service. Carrier or customs delays can occur.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes. Insured door-to-door delivery is included in the displayed price unless a product page or checkout explicitly states otherwise. For orders delivered within the United States, applicable customs duties and import charges are covered by Mono Aurel. For deliveries to all other countries, customs duties, import taxes and related destination charges are the buyer's responsibility. Any applicable sales taxes will be displayed at checkout where required. Every shipment is tracked and insured, and we share final photos and videos of your finished piece for approval before dispatch.

Can I request a custom size or color?

Yes. Custom sizes, finish colours and project quantities are a core part of our work. Send your requirements through the Custom Commissions page and we will prepare a proposal for your space.

Will my piece look exactly like the photos?

Because every piece is handmade, there will be subtle natural variations in texture, surface detail and finish tone. These variations are part of the handmade character and make each piece unique. We send final photos and videos of your finished piece for your approval before dispatch.

Are the products heavy?

No. Despite their monumental appearance, our pieces are much lighter than real stone or concrete thanks to the sculptural core structure. A 180 cm lamp weighs approximately 18–20 kg, making it straightforward to move and place.

Do I see my piece before it ships?

Yes. We share production photos and videos at every important stage of the work, and send a detailed final video before dispatch. Your piece ships only after you have approved it. If you are not satisfied before shipment, we will remake the piece or refund you.

Can I cancel my order?

Since each piece is made to order, an order may be cancelled within three days of purchase provided production has not started. Once production has begun, a cancellation or refund may be reduced to reflect materials already used, labour completed, production time, design work, revisions and customisation. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel.

Can I return my piece after delivery?

Because every piece is made to order and approved by you before it leaves the atelier, we do not accept standard change-of-mind returns once a piece has been approved and dispatched. Custom and personalised pieces may not qualify for a standard return. If there is something wrong with the piece itself, it is covered by the warranty below.

Is there a warranty?

Every product carries a one-year warranty covering verified manufacturing defects, product faults and qualifying transit damage. Valid claims are resolved by refund or replacement, and in most cases the original piece does not need to be returned. The warranty does not cover misuse, improper installation, accidental damage or ordinary wear.

Do you have a trade program?

Yes. Interior designers, architects, design studios and hospitality projects can apply to the Mono Aurel Trade Program. Approved trade clients receive a flat 15% discount on eligible collection pieces, along with dedicated project support and bespoke development. Custom projects are quoted individually.

How do I care for my sculpture or lamp?

Wipe gently with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Avoid water exposure, chemical cleaners, and direct outdoor placement unless specifically treated. For indoor use only unless otherwise specified.
