Materials and craftsmanship

Every piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple layers of mineral plaster, giving a dense, matte, stone-like surface. Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment. Tones sit in the ivory, bone and warm sand family and soften beautifully in natural light.

Care

Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid prolonged direct water contact unless your piece was sealed for sheltered outdoor use — if in doubt, write to us; a real person from the atelier answers.

Production and delivery

Every piece is handcrafted to order in our atelier. Production typically takes 5–10 business days unless this page states otherwise; custom sizes and more complex forms may require additional time.

Your piece leaves the atelier as soon as it is finished. Delivery timing and full terms are set out in the section below.

Shipping, duties and returns

Insured door-to-door delivery is included in the displayed price unless a product page or checkout explicitly states otherwise. Once dispatched, transit typically takes approximately 3–10 business days depending on destination and service; carrier or customs delays can occur. For orders delivered within the United States, applicable customs duties and import charges are covered by Mono Aurel. For deliveries to all other countries, customs duties, import taxes and related destination charges are the buyer's responsibility. Any applicable sales taxes will be displayed at checkout where required. Every shipment is tracked and insured.

Each piece is cushioned and double-boxed like artwork, and you receive tracking as soon as it leaves the atelier.

We share production photos and videos at important stages, and send a detailed final video before dispatch. Your piece is shipped only after you have reviewed and approved it. If you are not satisfied before shipment, we will remake the piece or refund you. Because pieces are made to order, standard change-of-mind returns are not accepted once a piece has been approved and dispatched. Every product is covered by a one-year warranty: in the case of a verified manufacturing defect, product fault or qualifying transit damage, we will provide a refund or a replacement, and in most cases you will not be asked to return the original piece. The warranty does not cover misuse, improper installation, accidental damage or ordinary wear.

About this piece

A monumental study in balance and organic form. Harmony Totem stacks a sequence of softly interlocking, teardrop-inspired elements into a vertically flowing composition, individually shaped and finished by hand. Its warm mineral surface creates the appearance of carved stone while retaining the distinctive character of a handcrafted Mono Aurel piece.

Hand-shaped in our atelier and finished with layers of mineral plaster, the sculpture has a softly textured, matte, stone-like surface that gives it the presence of a carved object while remaining suitable for contemporary interiors. It is designed as a statement piece for high-ceiling residences, entryways, living rooms, hospitality spaces and curated commercial interiors, introducing height and sculptural movement without visually overwhelming the surrounding architecture.

Each sculpture is shaped, plastered, sanded and finished individually by hand. Small differences in surface texture, dimensions, tonal variation and sculptural contour are natural characteristics of the process and should not be considered defects. No two pieces are completely identical.

Dimensions

  • 63 inches / 160 cm — overall height 160 cm, maximum width approx. 38 cm / 15 in, base approx. 36 × 36 × 4 cm (14.2 × 14.2 × 1.6 in), approximate weight 18–22 kg / 40–49 lb
  • 71 inches / 180 cm — overall height 180 cm, maximum width approx. 42 cm / 16.5 in, base approx. 40 × 40 × 4 cm (15.7 × 15.7 × 1.6 in), approximate weight 22–26 kg / 49–57 lb
  • Please note: as every sculpture is shaped and finished by hand, dimensions may vary slightly from piece to piece. Variations of approximately 1–2 cm are part of the handmade character of the work.

Materials and construction

  • Lightweight EPS sculptural core with reinforcement mesh
  • Multiple hand-applied mineral plaster layers
  • Hand-sanded surface with a matte mineral finish
  • Internal structural support and an integrated stabilising base

Finish and colour

A subtly irregular mineral surface inspired by aged limestone, plaster and hand-finished architectural objects. The finish is intentionally tactile rather than machine-perfect, and gentle tonal variation creates depth in natural or directional light.

  • Ivory White — soft warm white, the standard finish
  • Warm Stone Beige — natural limestone-inspired beige
  • Greige — muted warm grey-beige
  • Taupe — earthier and slightly deeper
  • Charcoal — dark architectural finish

Looking for a specific colour? We can prepare the sculpture in a custom tone based on a RAL reference, a paint sample or a photograph of your interior. Contact us before or immediately after placing your order.

Made to order

Each Harmony Totem is made to order in our atelier. Production takes approximately 5–10 business days. During production we share photographs and video so you can follow the piece as it develops, and before dispatch we send a detailed final video for your approval.

Shipping

Every order travels insured, door to door, with tracking. Transit typically takes approximately 3–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination and service level. For orders delivered within the United States, taxes and duties are included. For destinations outside the United States, import duties, customs charges and local taxes may be levied by the destination country and are the responsibility of the recipient.

Placement and care

  • Designed for indoor use. Covered outdoor placement may be possible with an additional protective finish — please contact us before ordering if the sculpture will be placed outdoors.
  • Dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or household chemical products.
  • Avoid prolonged direct contact with water.
  • Lift the sculpture from its base when repositioning; do not push or pull it by its upper elements.

Customisation

Harmony Totem can be adapted to a specific architectural setting: custom colours and selected RAL tones, modified height, adjusted proportions, interior designer specifications, hospitality and commercial projects, and pair or multiple-piece installations. For bespoke dimensions, please contact our studio before ordering.

Interior designers, architects and design studios are invited to apply for the Mono Aurel Trade Program for project pricing, specification support and custom production.

Warranty and returns

One-year limited warranty covering manufacturing-related structural defects under normal indoor use. Natural surface variation, accidental damage, improper installation, impact damage and damage caused by inappropriate environmental exposure are not manufacturing defects.

Harmony Totem is handcrafted and made to order. Because of this, standard returns are generally not accepted once production has begun. If you need to modify or cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible. Before shipping we provide detailed photographs and video and request your approval of the completed sculpture. Full terms are set out in our Refund Policy.

Notes from the Atelier

Living with the Harmony Totem

Material story

Each piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple mineral plaster layers to create its distinctive stone-like surface — applied, dried and carved back until it reads like weathered stone. Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment.

Surface character

Run a hand across the surface and you will find gentle tool marks, grain and subtle shifts in tone. This variation is not a defect — it is the record of the making, and the reason no two pieces are ever identical.

How it is made

Concept, carving, reinforcement, plaster, hand sanding, pigmentation, inspection — every piece passes through the same slow sequence of hands before it is packed, one piece at a time. See Our Materials and Process.

Placement & scale

Sculptural objects work best where they can breathe — a quiet corner, an entryway, the end of a hallway, a console styled sparsely. The lightweight sculptural core keeps large architectural forms manageable to position and to move. Give the piece space and side light; plaster texture comes alive in raking light. Exact dimensions are listed above, and a written spec sheet is available on request.

Long-term care

Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid soaking, harsh cleaners and abrasives. Treated kindly, mineral plaster ages the way good architecture does — slowly, and with character. Read the Care Guidance.
