Materials and craftsmanship

Every piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple layers of mineral plaster, giving a dense, matte, stone-like surface. Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment. Tones sit in the ivory, bone and warm sand family and soften beautifully in natural light.

Care

Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid prolonged direct water contact unless your piece was sealed for sheltered outdoor use — if in doubt, write to us; a real person from the atelier answers.

Production and delivery

Every piece is handcrafted to order in our atelier. Production typically takes 5–10 business days unless this page states otherwise; custom sizes and more complex forms may require additional time.

Your piece leaves the atelier as soon as it is finished. Delivery timing and full terms are set out in the section below.

Shipping, duties and returns

Insured door-to-door delivery is included in the displayed price unless a product page or checkout explicitly states otherwise. Once dispatched, transit typically takes approximately 3–10 business days depending on destination and service; carrier or customs delays can occur. For orders delivered within the United States, applicable customs duties and import charges are covered by Mono Aurel. For deliveries to all other countries, customs duties, import taxes and related destination charges are the buyer's responsibility. Any applicable sales taxes will be displayed at checkout where required. Every shipment is tracked and insured.

Each piece is cushioned and double-boxed like artwork, and you receive tracking as soon as it leaves the atelier.

We share production photos and videos at important stages, and send a detailed final video before dispatch. Your piece is shipped only after you have reviewed and approved it. If you are not satisfied before shipment, we will remake the piece or refund you. Because pieces are made to order, standard change-of-mind returns are not accepted once a piece has been approved and dispatched. Every product is covered by a one-year warranty: in the case of a verified manufacturing defect, product fault or qualifying transit damage, we will provide a refund or a replacement, and in most cases you will not be asked to return the original piece. The warranty does not cover misuse, improper installation, accidental damage or ordinary wear.

About this piece

Large handmade geometric totem sculpture with a textured plaster stone-look finish. Available in 120 cm, 160 cm and 180 cm sizes. Shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with mineral plaster, designed as a bold sculptural floor art object for modern, organic, Mediterranean, minimalist and wabi-sabi interiors.

With its stacked faceted form, oversized sculptural presence and natural stone-inspired textured surface, this piece brings the feeling of a collectible art object into modern homes, villas, boutique hotels, offices, galleries and curated design spaces.

The sculpture is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple mineral plaster layers. This gives the piece the visual character of carved stone while keeping it more practical than real stone for shipping, handling and interior placement.

Available Sizes

120 cm / 47.2 in — max width and depth 36–42 cm, base diameter 30–34 cm, top diameter 34–40 cm, middle ring diameter 38–42 cm. Best for smaller corners, console zones, bedroom corners and compact entryways.

180 cm / 70.9 in — max width and depth 55–65 cm, base diameter 45–52 cm, top diameter 52–62 cm, middle ring diameter 58–66 cm. The largest and most dramatic option, close to human height, with a strong architectural presence.

Shape & Design

The sculpture has a stacked geometric form: a wide bowl-like upper form, faceted angular body sections, a thick circular ring around the lower-middle section, a tapered lower geometric section and a solid cylindrical base. Because of its faceted body and textured plaster surface, the sculpture changes visually throughout the day depending on light, shadow and viewing angle.

Material

This sculpture is not real stone. It is built on an engineered lightweight sculptural core with hand-applied mineral plaster, a textured surface finish and a matte protective topcoat. The core allows the sculpture to be large in scale without the extreme weight of real stone, while the plaster coating gives the surface a handmade, mineral, natural stone-like appearance.

Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment.

Finish Options

Warm Ivory, Plaster Beige, Travertine Sand, Soft Greige, Light Stone Gray and Matte Charcoal Black. Custom colour requests are welcome — request a custom version to match a specific interior palette. Colours may appear slightly different depending on lighting, screen settings and the handmade finishing process.

Surface Texture

The surface is intentionally textured by hand to create a natural stone-inspired look: matte, tactile, slightly irregular and organic. Small variations in texture, tone, surface movement and finish are part of the handmade character of the piece.

Weight

Approximate weight depends on size and finish thickness: 120 cm, 8–14 kg; 160 cm, 14–22 kg; 180 cm, 20–32 kg. The sculpture is much lighter than real stone but still designed to feel stable and substantial.

Indoor / Outdoor Use

This piece is primarily recommended for indoor decorative use. It may also be used in protected outdoor areas such as covered terraces and patios, villa entrances, hotel corridors and semi-open architectural spaces. For direct outdoor exposure, rain, snow or intense humidity, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss the best finish and protection options.

Placement Suggestions

Entryways, living room corners, stair halls, villas, boutique hotels, spa interiors, reception areas, interior design projects, covered terraces, and modern Mediterranean, organic modern, wabi-sabi or minimalist interiors. The 180 cm version is especially suitable for large spaces where a strong sculptural focal point is needed.

Large sculptures require reinforced protective packaging, so the package may be oversized.

Important Notes

This item is handmade and made to order. It is not real stone; the surface is plaster-coated and hand-textured. Small variations in dimensions, texture and finish may occur. Place the sculpture on a flat, stable surface and avoid dropping, dragging or knocking it against hard surfaces. Wipe gently with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth.

Notes from the Atelier

Living with the Stone Look Garden Totem

Material story

Each piece is shaped over a lightweight sculptural core and finished by hand with multiple mineral plaster layers to create its distinctive stone-like surface — applied, dried and carved back until it reads like weathered stone. Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment.

Surface character

Run a hand across the surface and you will find gentle tool marks, grain and subtle shifts in tone. This variation is not a defect — it is the record of the making, and the reason no two pieces are ever identical.

How it is made

Concept, carving, reinforcement, plaster, hand sanding, pigmentation, inspection — every piece passes through the same slow sequence of hands before it is packed, one piece at a time. See Our Materials and Process.

Placement & scale

Sculptural objects work best where they can breathe — a quiet corner, an entryway, the end of a hallway, a console styled sparsely. The lightweight sculptural core keeps large architectural forms manageable to position and to move. Give the piece space and side light; plaster texture comes alive in raking light. Exact dimensions are listed above, and a written spec sheet is available on request.

Long-term care

Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid soaking, harsh cleaners and abrasives. Treated kindly, mineral plaster ages the way good architecture does — slowly, and with character. Read the Care Guidance.
