Materials & finishes

A hand-applied surface, developed for you

Our pieces are formed from a refined mineral-plaster composite and finished entirely by hand. The result is a warm, matte, tactile surface with subtle depth and movement — closer to a fresco than a factory coating.

Mineral pigments, limewash tones and protective finishes are applied by hand according to the selected surface treatment. For each commission we develop finish and colour samples so you can approve the exact surface before we begin.

Our surfaces are a mineral-plaster composite, hand-finished to resemble natural stone and earthen materials. They are not quarried stone, marble, or concrete. Because each piece is finished by hand, slight variation in tone and texture is inherent and intended.

Who you work with

Direct Collaboration with the Maker

From the first design discussion to the final surface finish, you communicate directly with the person designing and handcrafting your sculpture.

01

Direct and personal

You speak with the person designing and handcrafting your sculpture — not a sales team.

02

Tailored to the architecture

Design decisions are made around your space, its proportions and its light.

03

Handmade, not mass-produced

Each commission is formed and finished by hand, one piece at a time.

Your safeguards

Made Transparently. Approved Before Shipping.

A commission should feel certain long before it arrives. These safeguards are part of every project.

01

Agreed before production

The developed design direction is approved with you before any material is committed.

02

Progress you can see

Photographs and videos of the making process, shared at important stages throughout production.

03

Final approval before dispatch

A detailed final video and photographs, reviewed by you before anything is packed. If you are not satisfied before shipment, we remake the piece or refund you.

04

Insured delivery, included

Protective packing and insured, tracked door-to-door delivery, typically approximately 3–10 business days in transit depending on destination. For orders delivered within the United States, customs duties and import charges are covered by Mono Aurel. For all other countries these charges are the buyer's responsibility.

05

One-year warranty

Every finished piece is covered by a one-year warranty against verified manufacturing defects and qualifying transit damage.

Installation requirements and delivery timing are confirmed individually as part of each commission proposal.

Practical details

Pricing, Payment & Terms

Clear, individually confirmed terms — so every commission feels certain before it begins.

How commissions are priced

There is no fixed minimum price. Each commission is priced individually according to scale, design complexity, finish, quantity, delivery destination and project requirements. The full price is confirmed in the individual project proposal before you commit.

How payment works

Once you select a direction to develop, we prepare the project proposal, Custom Commission Agreement and invoice. Production begins with a 50% deposit. The remaining 50% is paid after your final approval and before dispatch.

Custom colours & finishes

Custom colour and finish development is included in the commission price unless the project requires an exceptional material, specialist process or separately sourced component.

Production time

Each piece is handmade to order. Standard production typically takes 5–10 business days. Custom commissions and highly detailed pieces may require additional time. We share progress photos and videos throughout production and provide final visuals for approval before dispatch. Expedited production may be available depending on the atelier schedule; availability, timing and any additional cost are confirmed individually.

Taxes, duties & delivery

Insured door-to-door delivery is included unless the individual project proposal states otherwise. Once dispatched, transit typically takes approximately 3–10 business days depending on destination and service; carrier or customs delays can occur. All prices are listed in the currency shown at checkout and are subject to change without notice. For orders delivered within the United States, applicable customs duties and import charges are covered by Mono Aurel. For deliveries to all other countries, customs duties, import taxes and related charges are the buyer's responsibility. Any applicable sales taxes will be displayed at checkout where required. Every shipment is tracked and insured.

Approval, remakes & warranty

We share production photos and videos at important stages and send a detailed final video before dispatch. Your commission is shipped only after you have reviewed and approved it. If you are not satisfied before shipment, we will remake the piece or refund you. Because commissions are made to order, standard change-of-mind returns are not accepted once a piece has been approved and dispatched. Every piece is covered by a one-year warranty: in the case of a verified manufacturing defect, product fault or qualifying transit damage we will provide a refund or a replacement, and in most cases you will not be asked to return the original piece. The warranty does not cover misuse, improper installation, accidental damage or ordinary wear.

Cancellations & refunds

A commission may be cancelled within three days of confirmation provided that detailed design development and production have not begun. Once detailed design development or production has started, the commission becomes partially non-refundable. Any refund is calculated after deducting the value of completed design work, revisions, materials, labour, production time, project-specific purchases and non-recoverable transaction costs, subject to applicable law.

The individual project proposal and Custom Commission Agreement always take precedence for your specific commission.
